22 of August 2008

Boston Globe, MA

Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer are hosting a “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith” playoff at the Hard Rock Cafe on Aug. 25 to benefit Boston for Africa 2008.

Apparently the four best “Guitar Hero”-s (as determined by competitions in 15 other markets) will go head to head and whoever still has feeling in their fingers at the end will be awarded a custom motorcycle by Tyler. The press release also promises that “Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer will rock the house with an all-star performance for the contestants and a host of Boston-area celebrities and sports heroes.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit FORGE, Foundation Rwanda and Opportunity International to raise awareness of the opportunities to end the cycle of war and poverty that affect many African countries.

If you want in on all the local luminary action it will run you $250. Click here for the deets.
