Steven Tyler – The Author

Boston Globe, MA
February 15, 2009

While his band’s been on hiatus, Steven Tyler has managed to stay busy. We’re told the Aerosmith singer is hard at work on his memoir. (You’ll recall that Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, bid more than $2 million for the rights.) As you might expect, Tyler isn’t doing the typing himself. A source close to the screamer tells us that David Dalton is ghost writing Tyler’s tell-all. Not exactly a newcomer to rock writing, Dalton’s authored well-received books about Janis Joplin, James Dean, and Jim Morrison, and countless articles about Marianne Faithfull, The Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan. Apparently, a draft of the book is due in June.
