According to LivingInPeru.com, 10,000 tickets to Aerosmith’s May 22 concert at the Monumental Stadium Esplanade in Lima, Peru have already been sold so far after tickets went on sale earlier today (Tuesday, March 16).

“A new record has been set,” MVV Asociados, the public-relations agency responsible for the Aerosmith concert, stated in a press release, adding that “this is the biggest first-day sale ever made by any band in Peru. It seems that the tickets will be completely sold out in only a few days.”

Ticket prices range from 72 to hasta 624 soles (U.S. $24 to U.S. $208).

The notorious rockers will hit the road this summer to play their first European shows in three years. Tickets to the 02 Arena gig are expected to sell out in record time, as the band whip up a storm of rock nostalgia with anthems like ‘Love In An Elevator’.

The ‘Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock’ tour was announced in February 2010. Kicking off in Sweden and including ten dates in the UK, the tour then moves on to Romania, Greece, Holland, Belgium, Spain, France, Czech Republic and finally, Venice in Italy on 3rd July.

Following high-profile squabbles, rumours of splits, back injuries and treatment for drug addiction, the entire line-up – Steven, Joe, Tom, Brad and Joey – will show a united front as they revive their classic brand of bare-chested, big-haired rock.

Flamboyant front-man Steven Tyler said in a video announcement; “We’re coming your way and rockin’ your world. Look out baby, because here we come again!”

Colombia Reports

Colombian media is buzzing with the rumor that legendary U.S. band Aerosmith will rock Bogota with a concert on May 20.

The group will reportedly bring their “Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock Tour!” to Colombia’s capital city prior to launching their European tour on June 10.

Colombian organizers of the event are expected to officially announce the concert at an event at Bogota’s Hard Rock Cafe next Friday March 5.

Aerosmith has not yet confirmed that they will play in Colombia.

Other big names including Sting and Moby will also perform in Colombia in 2010.

British rockers Coldplay make their Colombian debut in the country’s capital on March 4.
