Aerosmith Rocks As New Mexico Lottery Scratcher
18 of March 2010
Blabbermouth.net, NY
March 17, 2010
Hard-rock legends Aerosmith are on center stage as a New Mexico Lottery Scratcher.
The extended-play Aerosmith game celebrates three of the band’s best works, including power ballad “Dream On”. Prizes are hidden behind 20 images of sheet music and thumping concert amps. Players can win to the tune of $50,000.
“Aerosmith rocks as a Scratcher game,” said Adriana Binns, New Mexico Lottery marketing director. “The band is one of music’s greatest acts and it has fans of all ages.”
In addition to cash prizes, the $5 game offers second-chance drawings to win trips to a party hosted by the band. The exclusive party will be held in September at Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Players enter at www.nmlottery.com. Drawings are scheduled for May 11 and June 29.
Formed in 1970, Aerosmith has sold 150 million albums. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Rolling Stone magazine has Aerosmith at number 57 on its list of rock’s 100 greatest artists. Recently, the makers of Guitar Hero launched a game devoted to Aerosmith music.
In 2009, the Grammy-winning group extended its brand to Scratcher games licensed exclusively through GTECH Corporation.

“You can’t get two or more of us together without someone starting to knock out a beat, so “Hit Hard”
BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–While no one can beat the rock solid rhythms of Aerosmith’s legendary drummer Joey Kramer, iPhone users can now challenge their drumming skills on Kramer’s recently released iPhone application “Hit Hard,” created for the famed drummer by PAID, Inc. Celebrity Services (OTCBB:PAYD).
Available on iTunes, the new iPhone “Hit Hard” application (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/joey-kramer-hit-hard/id352442312?mt=8), challenges fans to compete with one another to repeat the legendary drummer’s beats on an iPhone, or leave the competition behind and just knock out their own beats in “freestyle” play. The “Hit Hard” app features original drum beats created and laid down by Kramer.
“Drummers love challenges – I think it’s in our blood,” laughed Joey Kramer. “You can’t get two or more of us together without someone starting to knock out a beat, so “Hit Hard” is just a natural outgrowth of what drummers love to do.”
He added, “I love the app PAID, Inc. has put together for me. The design is killer and the beats are so on – it’s crazy.”
Each level in the game consists of a mock lesson from Joey Kramer where the player taps the correct sequence to match Kramer’s beat as the icons light up on the screen. Upon completing each of the 15 levels, the player will receive a personalized message from Joey Kramer. The game’s leader board allows players to see who comes closest to matching Kramer’s unbeatable grooves, which become increasingly difficult as the game goes on. Once all of the levels have been completed, the player can enter the High Score Contest, for a chance to win a special prize from Kramer as well as bragging rights.
During freestyle play, players can tap the various drums and cymbals that make up Joey’s on-screen drum kit and hear the sounds in real time to knock out their own beats or those of their favorite Aerosmith hits. Freestyle play is not scored and is not part of the Hit Hard competition.
“We are always seeking to deliver programs that build our artists’ direct-to-fan connection attracting new fans and energizing their existing fan communities,” said Keith Garde, president of PAID, Inc. celebrity services. “The ‘Hit Hard’ app brings a ‘piece’ of Joey to his fans. This project is another example of how we at PAID, Inc. engage with our clients in a way that provides for personal and customized campaigns dedicated to building artist-to-fan, fan-to-fan and fan-to-artist connected communities.”
Joey Kramer’s new iPhone application is named after the drummer’s gritty, soul-searching book, “Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top,” which was released in June 2009. In his book, Kramer writes about his rocky life, battles with childhood abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, depression and details how he lived out these experiences as a member of one the greatest rock bands ever known, eventually suffering a nervous breakdown at the height of Aerosmith’s comeback.
Playing drums since he was 14, Kramer has been setting the rhythm for Aerosmith since he was 18. More than 40 years later, Kramer has become an international celebrity winning over fans of all ages with his dynamic percussive beats. As part of Aerosmith, Kramer has sold more than 150 million albums, 21 of which have gone multi-Platinum and has been the subject of multiple documentaries, including “It’s About Time,” which focuses on Kramer’s career.

Steven Tyler’s Home Depot Trip Explained
30 of January 2010

January 29, 2010
As performances go, Steven Tyler nailed it.
The longtime Aerosmith frontman, who announced in December that he had entered rehab for pain management and an addiction to prescription painkillers, put on a brief show in the unlikeliest of places: a Home Depot.
Last Saturday, the singer, 61, visited the home improvement store’s outlet in Rancho Mirage, Calif., where he serenaded shoppers over the p.a. system with Aerosmith hits “Dude Looks Like a Lady” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”
Oddly, it wasn’t his only impromptu desert gig lately. On Jan. 19, he also joined a group of people at the Tilted Kilt, a Palm Desert pub, watching a karaoke competition. After two singers were booed during their rendition of “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” Tyler grabbed the mike and finished the song, Mike May (a.k.a. DJ Kermie), who was working that night, told the Desert Sun.
The sightings have led to speculation that the singer has completed his treatment. In fact, Tyler is still in rehab.
“Steven Tyler has completed the first 30 days of intensive sobriety treatment and is now in a 90-day residential day treatment program,” Eric Sherman, the president of Tenth Street Entertainment, Tyler’s management company, tells PEOPLE.
A source close to Tyler explains that the singer “has privileges to leave the grounds,” and the reason for his Home Depot trip was simple: “He was shopping.”
Sherman says the singer is “a performer 24/7 – whether he’s on stage, at the Home Depot or singing karaoke,” and adds, “We are all really proud of Steven’s continuing successful therapy and look forward to the day he returns to the stage and recording studio with Aerosmith to make new music for the fans.”
Tyler, who has suffered orthopedic injuries over the past decade that have left him with chronic pain, will require additional surgeries on his knees and feet, his physician, Dr. Brian McKeon, Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at Tufts School of Medicine, said in December.
In a recent interview, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry expressed hope that Tyler would be well enough to rejoin the band in the future: “I’m ready to write with him, to play on stage with him anytime he’s physically ready and wants to do it.”
